All recordings should be done in clean, ironed concert dress:
- Suit & tie /jacket, tie and trousers for gentlemen
- Smart office wear or dresses for ladies
- School uniform (shirt and tie but no blazer) for younger singers
Record on a device so the backing goes into your headphones and we only hear your voice not the backing track on your recording.
The words for the anthems should all appear on screen in the video so you can look up and not down. For the hymns load up the separate lyrics file on to the recording device: we want eye contact with the camera during your singing.
We are taking part in a Service with Ashville college for Easter. We will sing two anthems (one just WGS singers and one joint performance) and four hymns.

Make sure you are standing up straight and your appearance is impeccable in appropriate concert dress. The Christmas service was viewed 1,450 times and we all want you looking as well as sounding your best.
Here is the piano backing on its own for rehearsal. Please use the tracks with the vocal guide and moving sheet music music so all the word endings for each part can be synchronised more accurately.
If everyone follows the vocal guides and ends the words in time with the recorded vocals they will sound very crisp and professional in the final mix

Guide Me, Oh Thou Great Redeemer
The final backing track with lyrics on screen. You can add harmonies to the first two verses if you wish. Take care the first words are required immediately after the click.
MEN REMEMBER THE FINAL LINES ARE YOUR MOMENT OF GLORY.
1. Guide me, O Thou great Redeemer,
Pilgrim through this barren land.
I am weak, but Thou art mighty;
Hold me with Thy powerful hand.
Bread of heaven,
Feed me now and evermore;
Bread of heaven,
Feed me now and evermore.
2. Open now the crystal fountain,
Whence the healing waters flow;
Let the fire and cloudy pillar
Lead me all my journey through.
Strong Deliverer,
Be Thou still my Strength and Shield.
Strong Deliverer,
Be Thou still my Strength and Shield.
3. When I tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid my anxious fears subside;
Death of death, and hell's destruction,
Land me safe on Canaan's side.
Songs of praises, I will ever give to Thee;
Songs of praises, I will ever give to Thee.
Here is the harmony should you need it- the final verse is in unison!
